I dreamβ
a singing woman
on a ship–
she shines with diamonds and sea spray
(luscious goddess)
she moans and water soars–
a storm smell winds languidly
over and about,
music of sun, rain, sky
recalling life–
the thousand springs
I didn’t consult the Oracle last week, but she didn’t mind. She seems to know I had a bit of an ocean theme going on this week, and she gave me this one.
This is the kind of poem I associate with the Oracle, cliffs, Mediterranean Sea, wooden ships and ancient seafarers.
‘Music of sun, rain, sky,
recalling life.’
Homeric π
Thanks, Jane. Yes, those were the images going through me head. I was pleased with this transmission from her. π
It’s a good one. As though she really had something to tell you.
Yes, I guess she did, and I appreciate it. π
π
Love the homeric imagery in this one, Merril!
Thank you very much, Frank!
My pleasure, Merril! π
I detect Calliope’s fingerwork here if I’m not mistaken.
I don’t know if you mean me or the Oracle, but quite a compliment either way. Thank you, Ben! π
In my experience boundaries blur. π
π
I’d say the Oracle served you well, but It’s probably the “writer” who serves the Oracle.
I suppose so, Ken. π Thank you.
I also felt the Homeric in your poem Merril and the hymnic and the very old and very new – rather magical too. Thank you πΊ
Thank you very much, Susan. What a lovely comment!
A sea queen! just what I needed today. The Oracle knows. (K)
Thank you, Kerfe. She does!
You really painted a picture for me with this poem; thank you
Thank you for letting me know!
You had amazing foresight in putting these “random”refrigerator words together and making a coherent, beautiful dream – poem! I like this Sea Goddess of waves and sprays. π«οΈππͺοΈπ§
Thank you, Robin. The Oracle gave me some good words. π
I’m so glad you are able to interpret The Oracle, dear Merril. You are an amazing interpreter.
Awww–blush. π
