She flies among the stars
burning with incandescent fire,
unbound by time or space.
She is and was and will be always–
made of what—of blazing rays,
of tomorrows and todays?
You may see her in the night–
perhaps. . . that streak of light.

This is a quadrille for dVerse. Victoria asked us to use the word burn.
The rhyming is so smoothly done here. i was going to highlight a bit I especially liked, but then realised i was highlighting it all…lovely.
Awww–thank you, Sarah!
Love the riddling quality of this!
Thank you. Yes, I’m not sure who or what she is–the image just sort of came to me.
Lovely picture also.
Thank you.

A presence, more than an actual being…you’ve caught it. (K)

And now when I look at the night sky, I’ll think of her “flying among the stars.”

I like the idea of being made of blazing rays with tomorrows and todays added.

LOVE this. What is she? All of this and more. The rhyming is flawless and the image…excellent.
Thank you, Toni! I don’t know what she is. I just had an image of this being flying around in space. 🙂
Sounds to me like…Woman….
Yes.
Actually a poetry book concept I’ve been thinking about… we’ll see. 🙂
A strong poem that many of us can identify with. I’m glad you took it here instead of ranting. There is enough of that all over the place.
Thank you, Victoria.
That streak of light..she is a wonderful light to behold for sure.
Thank you, Grace, she is!
Beautifully mysterious
Thank you, Derrick.

Ooh, Merril! This was existential, surpassing stars and becoming something sublime. I love how you were naturally flowing in your words and rhymes, too. ✨
