The rain
falls
falls
falls,
plothering,
then subsiding ,
slithering,
sliding,
down the branches,
drips,
drops,
into a puddle,
plops.
It’s raining here today, so this is just a bit of fun for Day 26 of NaPoWriMo, where the prompt is repetition.Β I was surprised and honored to find my villanelle from yesterday was the featured poem today.
Just exactly! (K)
Thank you! π
love ‘plothering’…
Thank you very much. I do, too. I just mentioned to Derrick that I found it a few years ago on a list of British words for rain.
Thanks for plothering – I’ll try to remember it π
Thank you, Derrick. It’s a great word, isn’t it? I got it from some list of British terms for rain. π
Love this – it’s raining cats and dogs today, plenty of plopping and plothering. This is just an onomatopoeic extravaganza!
Congratulations on being featured yesterday, well deserved, and what a thrill to see you there.
Thank you so much, Sarah!
Thank you for all the villanelle prompt, which inspired yesterday’s poem. π
Exactly what rain does, except when it’s driving in a sort of blizzard π
Thank you. Yes. π
And now I just heard we’re under a tornado watch until 9 tonight!
That’s serious! Makes our winds rattling around the attic seem silly.
It’s not really raining or windy right now. I guess there are thunderstorms in the forecast with the possibility that tornados could be spawned. It makes me so anxious–so I guess I’ll be that way for the next 6 hours.
I’ll bet! At least your blocks look sturdy.
It’s weird–now there’s bright sunshine.
It’s been like that here the last few days. Bright sun between lashing rain, gales and storm.
I wish it would just rain and get it over with. π
It doesn’t though. It rains, stops and comes back for another round.
Love this…but no more rain, please! π
Yes– at least not for a while!
And thank you. π
Nice!
Thank you!
I smiled as I read this one. TY!
Thank you!
Sooo… you’ve been in my neck of the woods, have you? The rain is incessant! There is so much flooding going around, it is scary.
As for this, was cute and fun!
Thanks so much, Dale.
Sorry about all your rain and flooding–I guess all that snow melting doesn’t help.
Yesterday we had flood warnings, severe thunderstorm watches, tornado warnings. . .rain, then the sun came out, then it got real dark. Fortunately, nothing too bad here. The sun is back out this morning.
The biggest problem is/was the ice beneath the snow so its melting had/has nowhere to go.
No sun for us today and none called for tomorrow. Guess it is just as well that I work!
Sorry! Hope work goes well. We’re having our belated family Passover dinner tonight.
No worries. I need to work!
Enjoy your belated Passover dinner!
Thank you! I got all the cooking done in advance, except the sweet potatoes, which is just cutting up and roasting.
Woot! And I finished work a bit earlier so I can finish up for my dinner party tonight!
That’s a lot of cooking!
Nah… Made an angel food cake last night. Made my marinate for my flank steak this morning. Making mussels so will just cook them when the guests are here (might make my sauces ahead of time)… Few other little things to prepare but easy-peasy
π
Congratulations on the feature, Merril.
And rain is the ultimate repetition.
Thank you very much, Ken!
