Almost a blush,
and day dances in
kissing eternity
to haunt you—
the dazzling secrets
in the morning air
colored as poetry,
there a ghost
smiling if,
embracing never—
and may.
Listen! It lingers,
a cloud,
but you remember
only this peace
I did an early morning consult with the Oracle this morning. It looks like a promising day. 😉
❤ this! Enjoy your day, Merril.
Thank you so much, Jill! You, too.
It does sound as though she’s predicting a glorious day for you. The set she showed me was nothing like that, full of words like caramel, work, bleed…
It does look like she promising me something good. I hope so! 🙂
I’ve been out twice this morning to bring the washing in then hang it out again…
You mean because the weather is changing? It’s cloudy here, and we might get rain, but I hope it’s a good day anyway.
It’s windy here too, and sunny between the clouds, but every now and then there’s a shower. The sky looks as though it’s going to be a downpour so I rush out and bring the washing in.
Hope you got everything dry. 🙂
It blew dry eventually thanks 🙂
That’s good. 🙂
Very beautifully painted, your words are, picturesque to me.
Thank you very much!
The Haystacks look dreamy just like your poetry feels today. Enjoy your weekend!
Thank you very much, Marian. I hope you have a wonderful weekend, too!
I got dreams too, but yours were much more peaceful than mine. I love this Monet–I don’t think I’ve seen it before. He knew about light. (K)
Yes, he certainly did. Thank you, Kerfe.
Just gorgeous as always Merril!
Thank you very much, Holly!
Lovely. Hope your day turns out as promising as the Oracle suggests 🙂
Thanks so much, Marie. Not beautiful weather, but it was a good day.
I love this:
there a ghost
smiling if
embracing never—
and may.
Thank you, Dale!
This really struck me too. I hope may means yes! And I don’t know why.
Ahhh–interesting, Claudia. I suppose the ghost sees the possibilities, but it’s up to the individual to make it yes?
I always think of the word “may” meaning, asking for permission, such as may I have another cookie, type of thing. But it’s also “might”, such as, you might want to have another cookie. I’m enjoying the ideas this little word brings up and who is giving or getting permission, who is waiting for an outcome, if anyone. I guess you see I love this poem.
Thank you so much, Claudia. I’m so pleased you like this poem so much, and that it has made you ponder. I was thinking may as in “might,” but the meaning to give permission opens it up to other possibilities.
This is what I like about poetry. The sometimes oblique nature of a single word and where it can take you.
Yes, that is so true.
There’s nothing like a rosy dawn. I hope it brought good tidings.
Thank you, Ken. It was actually cloudy here, but not a bad day. 🙂
Pleasant dreams
Thank you, Derrick.
Kissing eternity! I hope that day unfolded as richly as this poem my dear, sending kisses xx
Thank you so much, Damien!
My mom is in the hospital, so kisses are especially welcome. ❤
Oh Merril, I am sorry to hear that, now adding extra special kisses for your wonderful mum 😘😘❤️
Thank you SO much, my dear!
