The fire dances–
flowering in brilliant colors
laughing and dazzling with if–
and it lingers—
(like the moon’s smile)
a secret
your heart embraces
The Oracle obviously saw this same sunrise today—with a pink streak leading to the lingering crescent moon.
What a beautiful sight and hopeful message to wake up to!
We both started with the fiery morning but your message stays calm and placid. I get the angst too.
Thank you, Jane. I was sitting at my computer, and I looked up to see that beautiful sky–and then when I looked from another window, I saw the moon, too. It just made me feel happy and hopeful (you know before all the bad news and stuff of the day). 🙂
It is funny that we both began with fire and mornings.
Funny? Maybe. Or just to be expected 🙂
Of course, you’re right! 🙂
Splendid image.
Thank you, Derrick!
I love when the moon smiles! Nicely done, Merril. Enjoy your Saturday! It’s gloomy and rainy…a good day to write. 🙂
Thank you, Jill. Have fun writing. The sun is out here–for now. It sure was gloomy yesterday though.
Thanks! I think your gloom is returning tomorrow. Better enjoy the outdoors today!
This was simply beautiful and full of hope and ifs….
Thank you so much. The Oracle knew what she wanted to say–short and sweet–and I didn’t have to work for it. 😉
That she did!
And how often does she give so few words? Every time I try, I’m like… whoa… gimme a chance here!! 😉
I think she always gives the same number of words? It’s up to you to choose which ones you want to use, and then you can keep getting more, if you want.
Ooooohhhh… I thought you had to use them all!! Silly me.
Hahaha. That would be quite the challenge. No, there are no rules. Use as you wish. 😉 Sometimes for my Monday morning posts, just to get started, I pick two or three words.
No wonder I just couldn’t do a damn thing!!!
I know, right? 😉 Though to be honest, it did take me awhile to get the hang of working with them at all, and now Jane and I “collaborate” with the Oracle and fill in some of our own words.
Yes, I love reading the banter between the two of you!
🙂
The moon’s smile…that’s making me smile too.. What a beautiful sky! (K)
Merril, I likewise embrace the beauty of the photo and your words! Full of joy and a treat to read! 😀
Thank you so much, Annika!
So lovely. You know, I’ve never thought about fire and sunrises, although I often think of fire and sunsets. I thought of you last night when I saw a brilliant sunset, rosy-pink clouds like long cotton rolls across the sky. I was upstairs at the gym so, sadly, was not in a good spot to take a photo 😉
Thank you! How lovely that you thought of me when seeing a sunset! ❤
Le sigh!
This is a brilliant piece of writing.
Awww–thank you!
