For a couple of weeks each year, I have a spring meadow.
Spring slips through the mist
silent, save the susurration of wind and river
flowing to and from the sea–
a crow calls, then another–
the daffodils dance

This is beautiful, Merril! Happy Spring!
Thank you, Jill! Happy spring to you, too.
Funny. Yours is the third post today I’ve liked and commented on an it hasn’t stuck. Wonder if this will….
I love those slipping s sounds, and the daffodil dance π The neighbour with the sheep still has some left but ours finished weeks ago.
Thank you very much! I was couldn’t concentrate on any prompts or forms this morning, but a poem still wanted to come out. Haha.
Recently, a few people have commented on their blogs that they can’t leave comments. I couldn’t do anything on WordPress when I was on my old computer about a week ago.
It is hard to concentrate, and also find the time. Since we’ve been ‘confined’, I’ve had hardly any time for writing. Too much time spent keeping up with family and friends who are also confined and want to keep in touch.
It’s good you are able to talk with them.
Suddenly everyone is at home and available.
Hahaha. I tried to call older daughter, but she didn’t pick up, then younger daughter called. It’s strange here because each state is handling things a bit differently. Younger daughter was describing how her school is doing online teaching, but my niece in PA said her kids were not sent home with any schoolwork and are not being given online instruction.
I don’t know how the online school is working here. I know some schools were used to the idea and have a system functionning, but the platforms haven’t been up to the strain and there have been problems of connection.
I guess everyone is learning as we go along.
Better speed up. The virus doesn’t hang about…
Perfection!
Happy Spring to you!
Thank you! And right back at ya! π
π
Good evening, Merril! Your verbs sound like springtime. π
Today I wrote a haiku. Maybe you’ll see it soon – ha!
Thank you, Marian. Interesting about the verbs.
Well, I guess if you post it, I’ll see it! π
There seems to be a great lack of focus everywhere in the human world.
I miss the crow voices. A wonderful evocation of spring. (K)
Thank you very much. The crows seem very active and busy, along with the other birds right now.
They have their work to do.
that’s a beautiful spring meadowππΌ. And most likely an extra beautiful fortnight
Thank you very much. I love daffodils!
They are really something aren’t they?
Yes, they are.
Of all the good alliterations “silent, save the susurration” is my favourite
Thank you very much, Derrick!
…. more beauty!
Thank you so much, Resa!
What a lovely way to welcome Spring!
Thank you!
Light and hopeful. The Spring you describe is sublime.
Thank you so much!
I LOVE your flowers there, Merril. We skipped from Winter to Dog Days of Summer over the past weekend.
Thanks, Rachel. Spring is beautiful. I hope it stays around for awhile before summer comes.
