Frederic Edwin Church, “Beacon off Mount Desert Island”
Looking Out the Window
Red sky
dawns blush-tipped,
a warning to sailors–
yet I delight in night’s demise,
day breaks.
I’m combining prompts: a Crapsey Cinquain for Colleen’s Tanka Tuesday prompt
and a seeing red poem for Sarah’s dVerse prompt.
It’s also the start of NaPoWriMo, but I’ll see if I can do something else for that.
Beautiful
Thank you very much!
Lovely, Merril. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you, Jill!
this is lovely. thanks.
Thank you.
Another hopeful poem! While we still have sunrises, we still have hope. I love that blush-tipped – it made me think of daisies, and clouds.
Thank you, Sarah. Trying to stay hopeful. 😏 Interesting, I wouldn’t have thought of daisies.
Nothing more beautiful than dawn………
Thank you!
This is simply wonderful, Merril!
Thank you very much, Dale!

I like this sentimental spin on the old saying.
Thank you, Ken.😀
Good point about the demise of night being the breaking of day.
Thank you, Frank!
I too take delight rather than warning in those red skies. (K)
Thank you, Kerfe. Perhaps it would be different if we were seafarers .
I suspect that is true.
A beautiful sight to read this morning over my second cup of coffee! Late to the reading and posting here….sigh. I do love the idea of dawn blushing 🙂
Thank you very much, Lillian.
I’m late to reading, too–so many prompts! 😀
