But do you still ache for dreams
crushed by purple-shadowed storms?
Fever-hearted, you watch the diamond glitters
of sun-licked rocks,
~and after, you breathe, cooled,~
smelling all the ifs in blue sea whispers,
you drink it in–
yet even so, the wind asks why
time both haunts and heals.
Another sensory sort of poem. This time it’s my Saturday message from the Magnetic Poetry Oracle.
We had so many of the same images, and the same colours and questions.
the wind asks why
time both haunts and heals.
That is lovely!
She knows those ifs are haunting us. But time both haunts and heals…beautiful, and exactly right. (K)
Thank you very much!
The Oracle was very generous. This poem is a feeling I’ve had that I haven’t been able to express or knew that I needed until I read your poem.
That is quite a compliment. Thank you very much, Liz! π
You’re welcome, Merril.
Lovely, Merril. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy your evening with Mick! Sorry, I couldn’t resist. π
Thank you! π
Many images and feelings in this thought-provoking poem. I like it!
Thank you very much, Frank!
Thanks Merril and to the Oracle for gifting you and us with this energetic yet haunting prose.
Thank you very much, Susan!
Beautifully stated sensory images. Even if the word count dictated them Gerard Manley Hopkins would have liked your hyphens – as I do.
Thank you very much, Derrick. That’s lovely. No word count limits on this one, I just liked the hyphens, too. π
Oh, this was a delight, Merril! Wonderful puente.
Thank you so much, Dale!
My pleasure
This window of transition facing us presents a lot of unanswered questions. Most importantly, how do we heal? And can we, when so many are bent on maintaining a divide?
Yes, you’re right. I wasn’t necessarily thinking of the political, but yes. I suppose we won’t know till it happens or doesn’t happen.
Great writing, even if the Oracle had something to do with it.
The question at the end is haunting in its own right.
Maybe the Oracle can heal my headache!!!
Thank you so much, Resa.
I think you’ll have to consult her. π
I seem to have one. It always magnetized gobble gook for me.
Let me see if I can resurrect it from the give away pile, and give it one more chance! π
Good luck! It takes some time to understand her.
I really like your beautiful blog. A pleasure to come stroll on your pages. A great discovery and a very interesting blog. I will come back to visit you. Do not hesitate to visit my universe. See you soon. π
Thank you very much.
