Why whisper
life is all about blood
and fiddlers, the beat
of sea symphony rising here or there—
I can recall,
my storm-ached chants— let me
(kiss your lips)
and if–
in some misty when, death has no crushing arm, listen
(for me)–
watch us together, as the moon drips diamonds,
lighting the after-time shadows,
and love sings, summer-pink through our dreams.
Today’s message from the Oracle. She gave me nearly every word.
For me, wonderful imagery delivering a message of love.
Thank you very much, Frank!
Oh, the Oracle was particuarly generous this morning. This is a transcendent poem. I don’t want to leave where it took me.
Thank you so much, Liz! She obviously wanted poems about myths today.
You’re welcome, Merril! When the Oracle speaks, one must heed her counsel.
Yes, indeed. Who knows what might happen if one ignores her? 😏
Best not to risk it. 😀
😀
How lovely! I think the Oracle took us on the same journey! Yours is more romantic though, you brought company. Even though we know the ending, maybe they had some good times first 🙂
Thank you! I think the Oracle was leaving some hope that they’d be together some day.
Those Greek myths are all so cruel that I can never take their endings seriously. There must have been some happy endings!
It makes you wonder, doesn’t it?
Bunch of killjoys.
🤣
You and Jane were definitely in the same territory. And my art would fit easily with both of your poems. Perhaps this is the answer to my questions, a guide to crossing over. (K)
Yes, I think so. All three poems go together, and your art, too.
I’m happy Oracle was generous to you this morning. Nicely done, Merril! I hope you’re not getting hit by the Nor’easter.
Thank you very much, Jill!
We had rain most of yesterday and this morning, and now we have wind, but the rain is gone. Daughter in MA said last night that we were expecting snow today.
Thank you for your gift from the god of music today, Merril.
Thank you very much, Marian!
Beautiful, Merril. Love it! 💜
Thank you very much, Gwen! 💙
Beautiful Merril!
Thank you, Rene!

As soon as I saw the title I knew there would be an if. The moon dripping diamonds is a splendid image
Thank you very much, Derrick! I’m glad I didn’t disappoint you with the if. 😀
🙂
So beautiful, Merril. I especially liked “moon-drip diamonds” and “after-time shadows.” Actually, I especially liked all of it. 🙂
Awww–thank you so much, Robin! 😀
This was absolutely beautiful and the imagery is sparkly gorgeous. Lovely!
Thank you so much, Dale!
My pleasure.
