to the laughter,
chocolate-chased giggling and
bageled love feasts. Sweet echoes that
as stars glow from afar
with ghost motes that dust our beings,
A double cinquain for Colleen’s Tanka Tuesday. Colleen asked us to write about holiday traditions. Our family holidays always revolve around food and include lots of laughter. My mom had the best laugh, and we all miss her.
The light shines from all of your beautiful faces!
Thank you! ❤️
Seriously. The joy just shines. 💞
Great poem and photo. ❤️
Thank you, Cheryl!
Wishing you a very merry holiday. Keep the smiles going.
Great look back at three generations smiling and having a grand time.
Aw…I love this photo for so many reasons, Merril. I know you miss her. xo
Echoes of laughter live on forever…
The photo says it all.
May this holiday time be part of the healing in this, your first year loss.
I adore your lovely memories, Merril. Precious moments in time that hold our traditions and lives together with meaning. ❤
Oh, this is beautiful. So full of love and holiday spirit.

Thank you so much, Kerfe. Yes, it will be.
What a great photo! There is nothing better than laughing with family. My brother could make me laugh like that.
Thank you, Liz. There is something special about the inside jokes–with friends, too.
You’re so right about the special inside jokes!
Merril, I love your holiday memories. This photo always tugs at my heart. To have a family that shares in laughter like that is the greatest gift of all. ❤
Thank you so much, Colleen. It is!❤️
Beautiful, Merril. Merry Christmas! ✨🎄✨
Thank you, and Merry Christmas to you, too!
Ohhh, so many ghost motes this season. Excellent phrase that I’ll use over and over in my mind. To joy past – and looking forward to joy future. xo
Thank you very much, Pam! Yes, let us hope the future brings us all brighter days. 💙
It doesn’t get sweeter than this photo reveals!
Wonderful Tanka, Merril. I see it as a beautiful poem, with ghost motes dusting my being.
