For Paul Brookes’ Special January Ekphrastic Challenge, Day 4, I’ve responded to all three pieces of art.
Reborn
Ominous clouds gather—
shadows obscure the light,
leaving the world
a tangle of black and blue aches
And after the storm,
amidst the chaos,
the rebuilding begins—
we soar joyfully, reborn amongst flowers,
in colors never before seen.
Turns of symbolism with this one. Very applicable today!
Thank you, Frank!
Splendidly apt
Thank you, Derrick.
Reblogged this on The Wombwell Rainbow.
Thank you, Paul.
Lovely, Merril.
Thank you, Jill!
Merrill, I’m imagining the array of colours born after the storm! Wonderful post and it starts with the word which used to be one of my favourites – ‘ ominous’! How could I not read on?!😀
Thank you! That is so kind, Annika. 😀
Perfection! Yes, the colours shall splash brilliantly all over again.
Thank you very much!
I love what you do…
Awww–❤️
❤️
I like the progression you made from one image to the next. And of course the flowers to end it! (K)
Thank you very much, Kerfe. You might laugh at my misreading of the next one. 😀
I’ll get to it tonight. I don’t know where the days go…but I’m so happy you’re responding to my work.
Oh, no rush, Kerfe. I know it’s hard to keep up with everyone.
I love your poem of renewal! For me, the poem turns on that last line, which suggests that hope requires a letting go, a willingness to have faith in the unknown.
Thank you so much, Liz. This challenge is a bit harder than I expected it would be, responding to artwork every day. I’m glad you enjoyed this one.
