Moonlight kisses the sea
an almost embrace, whispering if
but for the shadows of time in the cool blue—
through the brilliant champagne clouds
light wakes those who ache,
heart-haunted
asking for flower-breath breezes,
born in the blush of star-fire,
the rhythmic poetry of earth and sky
laughing—
I dream of honeyed words, drifting
like rose petals, the fiddler surrounding us with magic,
as the sky smiles a secret, and in the flutter of a wing,
we forget and remember and forget
the beat of before, the chant of after,
the song of forever and always.
The Magnetic Poetry Oracle gave me this poem today.
Totally captivating ! You have the sensitivity of a true artist dear Merril. 🦋
Thank you, Rene! That is so kind! 💙
💙
This sounds like a melody played on a violin: the rhythmical backwards and forwards, the oppositions you set up. Nice work from both you and the Oracle, Merril!
Thank you very much, Ingrid! 🎻
You got the music, I got the dance–“the song of forever and always”. (K)
Yes, they are definitely companion pieces.
Enchanting! You and your oracle do fab work together. It’s like a Youracle.
Thank you so much, Resa. 🤣
Marvelous!!
Filled with beautiful emotions!!
Thank you very much!
Your welcome!!
Beautiful, Merril!
Thank you, Jill!
That last couplet is lovely!
The fiddler often finds his way into your Oracle poems, champagne too 🙂
Thank you so much! I actually went back to the Oracle to get the final couplet because it didn’t seem finished. Yes, I like that fiddler–and sometimes champagne. 😀
The Oracle always lets you know when you’ve gone away without finishing the poem 🙂
She does 😀
Holy f’n shamoley, this was gorgeous!
(P.S. My Mama loves Chagall!)
❤
David
Thank you so much for reading and that lovely comment, David. I love Chagall, too–connection to the old world.
Those last three lines in particular are transcendent! I’d like to stay where they took me.
Thank you so much, Liz! That’s so kind. 💙
You’re most welcome, Merril!
Your words tumble nimbly like the images in a Marc Chagall painting, Merril.
Thank you very much, Marian! 😀
Such beautiful rhythm and scintillating language – as if before, after, forever and always.
Thank you so much, Derrick!
Wow! Awesome! I love it! Wonderful!
Amazing! I loved the line “born in the blush of star-fire” 🙂
Thank you so much!
This is so lovely, Merril!
So NOW I see that you used this particular image even more recently 😉
I seem to spend all my time trying to catch up.
This is just so beautiful, Merril. I love the imagery you give us (with the Oracle’s help, of course)
Thank you so much, Dale.
It is so hard to keep up! And I never do. 😀
I appreciate you went back to find these.
Some days… 😀 I know there are a couple of yours that I can’t see because gmail hides older ones!
Interesting! My gmail doesn’t hide anything–but things get buried.
Well, my inbox only goes so far and if I use the “see all” it adds the hangout chats (and lemme tell you – there are MILES of those!!)
So yeah. Buried. Good term!
I must have mine set up differently. 😀
Please tell me how! I can’t seem to change it. It annoys the &^*% out of me…
I don’t know. I don’t think I did anything special to mine. I think it’s all the default settings–things randomly go into primary, social, and promotions– because I didn’t really understand gmail when I started using it, and I’m too lazy to bother. 😏
Well dang. I’ve tried to change it so I can see all of them. I hate gmail.
I guess I’m used to it now.
Must be the case 😉
😀
