Re-set
This toddler-tantrum world
needs a nap—
as under a snowy coverlet
bulbs sleep until spring comes
to bloom without fuss or fight–unfathomable,
the beauty that makes us—and bees—swoon
gold-dusted, what are their dreams?
A collective vision, pollen-scented harmony in ultraviolet color?
This is a quadrille for dVerse. The prompt word is sleep.
You’re right about the world needing a nap!
I love this swoony poem – the flowers emerging, the light we can’t see, the bees. it’s a refresher.
Thank you so much, Sarah. 💙
I just loved the opening line and then the philosophical musing! Lovely, Merril. 💙
Thank you so much, Punam! 💙
My pleasure. 💙
The first two lines went straight into my favorite metaphors folder!
Thank you so much, Liz! 💙
You’re welcome, Merril!
Lovely moments bursting forth, yes….and the anticipation…
Thank you, Ain.
I got my anger out earlier today, now I just wish people would go to sleep and wake up with a better mindset. 😊
Wow. Luv how the flowers get their hue.
Thanks for dropping by my blog today
Much💛love
Thank you, Gillena. 💙
Bees, the most humble of servants. Lovely image and pondering in your poem.

“A collective vision, pollen-scented harmony in ultraviolet color?”
I’m going with ultraviolet color and skip te allergies.. 😂
Thank you, Cindy!
This has been a terrible spring for allergies! But for bees, it’s probably wonderful.
It really has been here as well!
The bees 🐝 do seem happy 😃

Quadrilliffic, Merril!
Thank you.
Brilliant observations. Could we schedule that nap soon, please? I’d like to thank you we could all wake up with brighter outlooks.
Thank you. Wouldn’t that be wonderful?!
Love your contemplation of bee dreams. And I agree, the world does need a re-set!

You hit upon a perfect image here as your readers exclaim. Most toddlers behave better after a nap. Our world needs a long one, for sure!
Thank you very much, Marian. It certainly does! 😀

Wow… the toddler tantrum world would need a lot more than a nap… maybe 100 years or so.

Thank you so much, David! 💙
That first line really got me–so true, and as a gardener, the mystery/miracle of bulbs is always a yearly cure for the frosts and storms of winter. Loved this.
Thank you so much! I’m pleased it resonated on several levels with you. 🌸
Very lovely.
Thank you!
“gold-dusted, what are their dreams?
A collective vision, pollen-scented harmony in ultraviolet color?”

So true about toddler tantrums. Thanks, Merril.
Naps could solve so much. Just ask my guy! 🙂 So many bees buzzing around our yard now. They won’t nap until the end of summer.
Thank you.
My guy, too. I used to say if there was an Olympic event for napping, he’d win the gold medal. 😏
