And you Follow
A thousand lies fester
under rocks, spreading like mold
and Death whispers
from a shadowed ship sailing midnight seas–
ask me a secret in the darkness
carried on the lonely wind,
what if this is all?
Ask me again
in the birdsoft blue of day
after the moon has scattered her pearls
across the riverโs surface
as the sun now sings,
leading you. . .somewhere–
a path you follow, a choice youโve made,
seeds to blooms, summer to winter.
My poem from the Oracle.
My poem was so dark. I like how yours turns to the light. (K)
Mine started out dark, but I refreshed the tiles a few times . . .
I wasn’t expecting the turn after “what if this is all?” The turn is a comfort for troubled times.
Thank you very much, Liz.
“what if this” came right from the tiles, but so did birdsoft blue. . .๐
You’re welcome, Merril.
This is so beautiful, Merril. I love how you went from dark to light. Ask me again – love…
I keep wanting to ask, which group do you select from, original, nature…?
Thank you so much, Dale!
It depends. . .today I started with original and then went to nature.
Lovely.
I am looking at the Happiness one ๐
Does that mean you’re going to write one? ๐
That means I shall actually attempt one ๐

Beautiful write. Loved it.
Thank you.
Your poem is like a metaphor for the awfulness that life can be, but there’s light in the ‘birdsoft blue of day’ and those moon pearls defeat death and the lies.
The Oracle gave me all the darkness first, but then she relented. ๐
I should have kept turning the pages…
๐
Yes, your poem starts off dark (of course, I’ve read all the other comments ๐ ), but that turn toward the light, towards asking “in the birdsoft blue of day,” feels hopeful. We must have hope.
Thank you, Marie. I think so, too, though I also realize I have a comfortable life. I imagine some cannot feel hope.
True, that some cannot feel hope and that is another preventable tragedy in this country.

A lovely and welcome paradigm shift filled with hope, moon pearls and promise. ๐๐ผ
Thank you so much for reading! ๐
โin the birdsoft blue of dayโ – how wonderful ๐
Thank you very much, Ingrid! ๐
What if you could not turn to the light as you do?
I don’t know, Derrick. What if a bird couldn’t sing?
Yes
