And you Follow

Reflection, Odilon Redon

And you Follow

A thousand lies fester
under rocks, spreading like mold

and Death whispers
from a shadowed ship sailing midnight seas–

ask me a secret in the darkness
carried on the lonely wind,

what if this is all?

Ask me again
in the birdsoft blue of day

after the moon has scattered her pearls
across the riverโ€™s surface

as the sun now sings,
leading you. . .somewhere–

a path you follow, a choice youโ€™ve made,
seeds to blooms, summer to winter.

My poem from the Oracle.

  1. This is so beautiful, Merril. I love how you went from dark to light. Ask me again – love…
I keep wanting to ask, which group do you select from, original, nature…?

  2. Yes, your poem starts off dark (of course, I’ve read all the other comments ๐Ÿ™‚ ), but that turn toward the light, towards asking “in the birdsoft blue of day,” feels hopeful. We must have hope.
