March Aubade
Light like music
the sky sings–
now the fiddler recalls the pink
beneath the crows-wings-clouds,
and you watch the water gleam
far from the madding crowd,
feathers fluff, waves ripple,
nature’s extravagant beauty
in each tiny thing a thousand times,
waking,
asking if, but
you watch the moon smile
and settle onto the river like a ship–
now the shadowed rocks turn rosy,
a key change, the morning song rising.
My message from the Oracle. This one came right away.
How beautiful is this Merril thank you. The Oracle wove her magic as did Redon.
Thank you so much, Susan!
I hope this isn’t a duplicate reply. I said how beautiful is this and thank you The Oracle wove her magic as did Redon –
It is, but it’s lovely to read again. 💙
That Redon mirrors my collage, except I’ve taken your words and put birds on top.
I really like the image of the moon as a ship. (K)
Thank you! The Oracle definitely whispered the moon as a ship to me.
The image does go with your collage.
Beautiful and striking the serenity that rises through this poem! ❤
Thank you so much! I’m so pleased that it does.
Our poems are very different today, though I did get that persistent pink in the second poem. It’s strange, violent times here. We could do with a peaceful aubade.
The pink was persistent!
Yes, it’s good I visited the Oracle early this morning before I read the news.
About Wyoming? It was reported here. The fight-back continues.
Yes, Wyoming and the other right-wing reactionary stuff. I hope there is lots of fighting back.
I just hope it doesn’t spread.
You mean the horrible laws, I assume. Oh, and the former president is trying to stir up violence again.
He should be in prison.
He should be.
Now this is why you go for your daily morning walks… The Oracle knows this and offered you her part in it. Beautiful. I was there, with you.
Thank you so much! 💙
She really does know.
Wouldn’t we have fun?! 🙂
She does and we would! 🤗
😊
Ahh, I shall listen for the Oracle’s morning song. 🙂
😊
A beautiful rendering of the rising, colourfully licking, light
Thank you very much, Derrick!
Love the imagery
Thank you very much!
Welcome Merril!
What beautiful sounds in this poem, Merril!
Thank you very much, Ingrid! 😊
