Fruit of Knowledge
It was never about apples,
or serpents—
it was always about men,
power, and control.
Eat the apples—
blend them with other ingredients,
like thoughts in a paragraph
simmered and baked, crisp, tart, sweet.
And as you bite into one slice,
then another, gaze up and through the window,
know there are words and worlds beyond the sea,
your mind an ocean,
the waves beckon you to sail.
