There are fools surrounding a god

of smoke & poison

remember angel voices caramel breath linger long,

listen–

“it is I,

time to wake”

embrace this desire & live no prisoner

fever haunted

laugh open our secret magic

never let peace go

in warm night

a marble boy is born

the star bleeds

delicious colors

and will heal him

it is salt-rhythm poetry

glass and fire

for a wild heart

Saturday Magnetic Poetry. The Oracle decided to go with some magical realism, or surrealism, or perhaps it’s time for Angels in America (again).  The Oracle is cryptic.

The Prisoner and Full Moon Songs: Magnetic Poetry

screen-shot-2016-11-06-at-7-49-16-am

She dreams about a thousand sweet summers

and a gorgeous garden,

pictured love

yet life is sweat and pounding

trudging feet

ugly men chants

crush her

Mother, I soar to pink misty sky

and death my friend

This is for Elusive Trope’s Magnetic Poetry Saturday Challenge.  I read a report that one of the schoolgirls captured by the Boko Haram was recently found and rescued, along with her 10-month-old baby fathered by one of the men who held her prisoner. I think that inspired this poem, but then I heard this stunningly beautiful Handel aria sung by Joyce Didonato in this video.  It gives some hope amidst the despair.

But still, there was so much bleakness, so I went to the Oracle for another try.

Full moon song

spirits breathe sweet berry harmony

color breezes

there in dark verdant forest

they wander, watch

through night

as the river murmurs

we thrive and bloom

Succubus: Magnetic Poetry

In the night listen–

that soft voice,

a breeze comes with perfume

hot fire lips explore,

the kiss lingers,

this marble ghost like smoke–

remember

when you wake

Penelope Waits: Magnetic Poetry

Hero fascinated by fighting,

she, sad quiet at home,

a heart full of love.

Goddess protect him—

light night-hours,

in morning,

a gentle promise,

she has hope.

The Oracle seems to be bringing me women in history. Last week was Joan of Arc; and this week, Penelope (the wife of Odysseus), though I would not imagine her so passive. I’ve added punctuation.

This is for Magnetic Poetry Saturday  at Mr. Elusive Trope’s Specks and Fragments.

She was set

battle never easy

dungeon & hard space

for her

a girl

light and joy completed

by fire

Sweet Water Song and Look Out They’re Here: Magnetic Poetry Saturday Challenge

img_0388

The oracle first gave me this poem, a contemplation of life and love. The bottom seems to be cut off in the screen shot. I copied it first, just in case. Perhaps the oracle thought that was a better ending.

Sweet Water Song

screen-shot-2016-10-08-at-7-13-42-am

Ask an ancient river

whither come love

between moss or spring bloom

a color bright

& moon over rock

it is here

I know

follow sweet water song

and gentle breezes

making poetry

to ask why

this life

here

Then this one came from the leftover words.

Look Out! They’re Here

screen-shot-2016-10-08-at-7-14-02-am

though vivid

never watch

as cold brown blanket

rose above him

No

Life who were

Some say

Walk

Wander this world nightly

Both poems are for Elusive Trope’s Magnetic Poetry Saturday Challenge.  I think they illustrate our dual natures. I watch Masterpiece Theatre and The Walking Dead.

Everyone is welcome to play along on Magnetic Poetry Saturday. See the links on Mr. Trope’s page on his blog, Specks and Fragments.

If: Magnetic Poetry

Almost as if a breeze rose

murmuring

more love and harmony–

listen & feel

soft gentle wind,

soon world

bloom

I am excited for the return of Magnetic Poetry Saturday on Mr. Elusive Trope’s new site, Specks and Fragments. You can find more information here.  You can play with magnetic poetry here.

On this fifteenth anniversary of the September 11th attacks, the Oracle seems to be promising peace, if we listen.
