Thank you to Annabel Mahoney and team for selecting my poem “The Almshouse” for the current issue of the Wellington Street Review. I am so pleased to be included in this issue. You can read the poem here.
An extremely moving piece, Merril. Congratulations on the publication!
Thank you so much, Jill!
Congratulations, Merril.
Our current society may have come a long way in the consideration of women as a commodity to be used, discarded, and/or ignored, but there is still a ways to go. It may sound blunt, but that should be an indication of the injustice still being served.
Thank you, Ken. Not too blunt at all, Ken. I’ve been reading all sorts of stuff about sexual harassment as I finish my manuscript, so I totally agree. (And then you get women like Phyllis Schlafly.)🤑
A piece that goes right to the gut!
Congratulations, Merril. Well merited, I say.
Thank you so much, Dale. I was pleased they published it.
As you should be!
🙂
Well done to you!!! (and what Dale said! 🙂 )
Thank you so much! 🙂
Congratulations and well done. Lovely, moving poem.
Thank you very much!
This is wonderful Merril–your words and work are so valuable in keeping these forgotten women alive. And unfortunately I fear things are not that different for poor women today. (K)
Thank you so much, Kerfe. No, I don’t think they are either.
Many congratulations on this excellent piece of history
Thank you very much, Derrick!

Thank you very much, Ali!
The sad and lonesome voice rang clear in your poem, Merril. Well done, and congrats.
Thank you very much, Pam!
You always open my eyes…and my heart… with your poetry. ❤
That is such a lovely thing to say–thank you very much! ❤
